New Service

I registered the site with GoDaddy a couple of weeks ago and just completed moving it from the previous host. You may notice a slight difference in the organization and content of the albums. I removed the Mavica category and all of my pictures are now grouped together, no matter which camera I took them with. I culled a lot of crap pictures (I actually had a couple that were nothing but black frames) and added enough that I had been holding on to that I still ended up with about twice as many pictures as were on the last host. As I get time, I will be adding the album descriptions as well as photo titles and descriptions. Who knows, I might even add pictures now and then.

New Host

I moved my sites to a new host. In trying to download the information from the old host, I missed the update directories.

The jury is still out on the new host but there are no refunds so we'll see how the next 12 months go...

Changing - AGAIN!

I am in the process of changing the photo site yet again. I've never been happy with managing photo pages through FrontPage and a friend turned me on to a photo gallery management tool. I'm giving it a test run and I'm also looking at other gallery management tools.

Misdirection

I just found a major drawback to using photo albums in FrontPage. They don't contain any editable link information so if you move the source photos, all of your links are broken and irreparable.

I've re-rearranged the directory structure and that should straighten it out once I get it uploaded.

Content Added

Last night I added content to the "new" side. I posted pictures I took at the KC Zoo and a few new pictures of the new dog, Teddy.

I should be getting some more fleshed out soon.

Site Update

As I type this, FrontPage is in the process of synchronizing the site changes. Following is a list of these changes:

- The site has been given a name. It is now called The Telephoto Monocle.
- The site has been split into two sections. The old section for Mavica and Cybershot photos that had previously been posted and the new section for D70 and more recent photos. Previously, I just posted whatever I shot as long as it was in focus. I will be a little more discriminating with the new section as to what I post. Images will continue to be scaled down to a maximum of 1024x768 for web loading purposes.

The new section doesn't have a lot of content yet. I was primarily interested in getting the structure and links online right now. There is, however, a page in the new section devoted to our new puppy that has content.

New Server

I decided to go with a managed hosting service to speed page load times, etc. The service has moved from unclebubby.dnsalias.org to unclebubby.com.

Link issues

Ever since I switched from shared borders to whatever Microsoft replaced them with, the links on the left have not been loading correctly. I don't know why.

Updated galleries

A couple of years ago, I changed the template and format of my photo page. In that change, many of the pages no longer have photos on them.
